What are growth groups?
Growth groups are sermon-based small groups, which meet weekly around our community. These groups practice the following:

  1. Fellowship
  2. Sermon-based discussion and application
  3. Prayer
  4. Local ministry projects

Why are growth groups important?
At Harmony Community Church we desire to see lives changed by the Gospel, and one of the ways we hope to see
lives changed is through growth groups. Growth groups help shepherd members to:

  1. Grow in unity with others.
  2. Grow in biblical wisdom.
  3. Grow in sharing their faith.
  4. Grow in serving Christ and others.

Growth groups keep Harmony Community Church conformed to Hebrews 10:25, and shepherd group members to conform to the image of Jesus (Romans 8:29). Growth groups are also key in Harmony Community Church pursuing its vision to experience the love of the Great Commandment of Matthew 22:37-39, flowing from biblical community cultivated in growth groups, and enacting the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20.

When and where do groups meet?
Groups meet in semesters (Fall and Spring) with breaks for Summer and the Christmas holiday – much like school. Currently, groups meet in the communities of Harmony, Bay Lake Ranch, and North Shore.

What if I want to start and/or lead a group?
Starting and leading growth group is a big responsibility, but is very rewarding. For more information on how to lead a growth group, click here to view our leader’s guide. To discuss starting or leading group, contact an elder.
