Does God Truly Love Us?
Malachi 1:1-5
Malachi is the final book of the Old Testament. Malachi was the last prophet called by God until He called John the Baptist in that role some 400 years later. There would be 400 years of silence that follows this final OT book, so it stands to reason the message would be pretty important. Israel is struggling. Some 100 years after the end of the Babylonian Captivity and decades after the Temple had been rebuilt, the people were jaded. After promises of restoration, they felt that God had turned His back on them. As a result of their circumstances, their faith began to falter. Did God truly love them as He said He did? These verses reaffirm God's love for all of His people no matter the circumstances in which we find ourselves. But what happens when we doubt His love for us? How does it affect us? Do our circumstances adequately reflect His love? Join us as we answer these and other questions.
